David Fisher is an international businessman, corporate attorney, and former senior government official with a record of accomplishments in diverse, challenging and complex business, government and non-profit environments. Career highlights include:
  • Joined The General Counsel Ltd. as an independent consultant to organizations on organizational governance, legal risk management and compliance, ethics monitoring and training, government relations, legal resource management, domestic and international business, crisis management and operations continuity, and strategic planning. Mr. Fisher works with organizations to promote growth sensible inter-business alliances, mergers and acquisitions, organizational efficiency and cost-cutting, and managed government and regulatory affairs.
  • Designed innovative programs in governance, risk management, and compliance analysis as Board Secretary with three multi-national public companies.
  • Created funding and program development initiatives in leadership positions with the Boards of major non-profits.
  • Founded a for-profit business venture serving the international convention industry.
  • Established international and domestic subsidiaries and strategic alliances in Asia, India, the Middle East, and Eastern and Western Europe.

PAST EXECUTIVE-LEVEL EXPERIENCE
Throughout his career, Mr. Fisher has held high level organizational positions including:
  • Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for G&K Services, Inc., Minnetonka, responsible for implementing governance, legal compliance and ethics programs, acquisitions strategic alliances, and intellectual property programs, as well as establishing the first office of general counsel for the Company.
  • President and Chief Executive Officer for Internet Destination Sales System LLC (iDSS), a software services provider to world-wide convention industry.
  • Chief Operating Officer and Commissioner of Administration and Technology for the State of Minnesota, and a member of the Governor's Cabinet, where he established business discipline and drove efficiency in operations, including in State results and project management, procurement, facilities management, business analysis, information technology, telecommunications, building codes, data privacy, and strike management.
  • Chief Information Officer, State of Minnesota, responsible for state telecommunications and information technology services, promoting enterprise architectures for greater efficiency, and infrastructure development serving remote areas.
  • Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary for ADC Telecommunications, Inc., a major publicly traded corporation with global operations in broadband communications deployment. Established the chief legal officer function; responsible for national and international acquisitions, business expansion, government relations, legal compliance, and corporate governance, and ethics training.
  • Various General Counsel and International General Management positions with The Pillsbury Company, including serving as general manager in establishing Pillsbury’s consumer foods distribution businesses in Eastern Europe.
