PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Kent Larson is the CEO of The General Counsel, Ltd. (www.gcl.com). Since founding the GCL in 1985, Kent has provided legal advice and counsel to a great variety of clients, ranging from start-up enterprises to major publicly held corporations.

His generalist business practice has been focused in the areas of commercial transactions, international business relationships, technological developments, intellectual property, and litigation management. He has been involved in the negotiation and development of strategic business alliances for both domestic and foreign enterprises. Trained in engineering, Kent has represented a great many high-technology clients.

Kent’s practice has involved a wide variety of business legal matters, including contracts, international business, leases, licensing, joint development agreements, incorporations, purchase and sale documentation, trade secrets, trademarks, intellectual property management, credit and collection matters, and product liability. He has managed relationships with numerous outside law firms and has been involved in the resolution of disputes and management of litigation relative to commercial, product liability, and intellectual property matters.

Prior to founding The General Counsel, Ltd., Kent served as Senior Attorney for Graco Inc., a Minneapolis manufacturer and marketer of pumps, fluid handling and spray finishing equipment. In this capacity, he had responsibility for numerous legal, technological and business matters. He served as primary legal counsel to a number of business units and subsidiaries of Graco and was involved in the formation and development of Graco Robotics, Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of state-of- the-art spray robots. He served as corporate Secretary for Graco Robotics.

In addition to practicing law and managing a law practice, Kent has been a founder and principal in successful business enterprises dedicated to helping clients (1) develop strategic relationships, particularly international alliances and (2) manage and extract value from intellectual properties.
